Community Foundation awards $500 scholarship to Chester High School Student in memory of beloved educator Rudolph Vallet

Owen Burke, a graduating student of Chester High School was awarded a $500 scholarship from the Rudolph Vallet Memorial Science and Education Scholarship Fund, a charitable fund administered through the Community Foundation of Orange and SullivanOwen will be starting his freshman year this fall at the University at Buffalo.

 

The Rudolph Vallet Memorial Science and Education Scholarship Fund was created by the family of beloved Rudolph Vallet, who was a Chester Union Free School District Science teacher. A scholarship is awarded annually to an individual pursuing a college degree in a science field or a related field, maintains a minimum GPA of 3.3 for all science courses, and displays upstanding moral character and a willingness to help others at all times. Since inception, this scholarship has awarded a total of $11,750 in scholarships.
