Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan Announce Hudson Valley Animal Shelter Fund Grant Recipients

The Hudson Valley Animal Shelter Fund was established at the Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan through a generous bequest from Jean Rowe. This fund will provide financial assistance to nonprofit animal welfare agencies throughout the Hudson Valley, in memory of Jean Rowe, now and forever.

The Community Foundation’s Board of Directors is proud to announce this year’s grant recipients from the Hudson Valley Animal Shelter Fund:

Goshen Humane Society, Inc. – A grant of $1,370 to assist in the costs of commercial grade custom sized gates for their shelter yards. More information can be found at

Humane Society of Walden, Inc. – A grant of $3,830 to assist with the costs of new kennels. More information can be found at

Pets Alive, Inc. – A grant of $1,600 to assist in the costs of a new snow blower, to help ensure animals are successfully cared for in the winter months. More information can be found at

The Animal Rights Alliance, Inc. – A grant of $2,000 to assist in the cost of their spay and neuter program. More information can be found at

The Ulster County SPCA – A grant of $1,500 to assist in the cost of a new lift exam table to help the examination of larger animals. More information can be found at

It’s a one-of-a-kind documentary chronicling their pilgrimage, which will resonate with viewers craving stories of faith, hope, love, and the power of community. Their trek in 2014 captured the imagination of the world and was featured in/on: The Today Show, the Huffington Post, The Meredith Vieira Show, Der Spiegel, Fox and Friends, and many other outlets. Since their return from Spain, the men are sharing their message of hope, faith, and community worldwide.

On Saturday, May 12, 2018, NCPA will present a new Major Spring Fundraising Event, a Latin Dance Party Concert/Celebration featuring Tito Puente Jr. and his Ensemble, at the Ritz Theatre in Newburgh, NY. NCPA Board member Linda Magnusson Rosario and her husband Steve, have graciously agreed to underwrite this event, but we need your help to not only ensure a sold-out concert, but help pave the way to make this opportunity an annual spring fundraising event. 

How can you help? It’s simple- please mark your calendar, and help publicize the event, become a NCPA Latin Dance Party Ambassador by reaching out to your personal and business contacts to become sponsors of the vent, to buy tickets and/or place an ad in the vent program.
