Monticello, NY – The Peter H. Cahalan Scholarship Fund was recently created by his family and friends to honor his memory and celebrate his life. Peter was an avid sportsman since childhood whose commitment to his home of Monticello and Sullivan county residents as a banker and his volunteerism. This fund will award scholarships to Sullivan County graduating seniors planning on attending a two or four year college and majoring in either finance or a sports related field and also has a commitment to their community.

The Foundation has significantly increased local charitable funds and empowered donors to make a profound difference in the quality of life in our region with the creation of over 200 funds that will provide grants and scholarships forever! Since 1999, the Foundation has been an effective steward of the community’s charitable resources and has been a leader in the administration of scholarships, and grant making for the benefit of nonprofit organizations in Orange and Sullivan Counties, and beyond.
