$15,000 is available from the Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan for organizations dedicated to rescuing, sheltering, and defending animals.
MONTGOMERY, NY (December 2, 2024) – The Hudson Valley Animal Shelter Fund (HVAS), a component fund of the Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan, is pleased to announce the updated timeline for its 2025 grant cycle. The application period will now open on January 6, 2025, and close on January 31, 2025.
With $15,000 available for this funding cycle, the HVAS will continue to support nonprofit organizations dedicated to rescuing, sheltering, and defending animals across Orange, Dutchess, Ulster, Putnam, Sullivan, and Rockland counties. Organizations may apply for grants ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 to support their essential work in animal welfare.
The updated timeline is designed to streamline the application process and allow more time for applicants to complete their submissions. Please note that while the timeline has changed, the grant criteria and parameters remain the same as in previous years.
Since its establishment in 2015 through a generous bequest from Jean Rowe, the Hudson Valley Animal Shelter Fund has awarded over $100,000 to local animal welfare organizations. This fund is dedicated to supporting a variety of capital and project expenses for nonprofit animal shelters and rescues across the Hudson Valley.
“The legacy of Jean Rowe continues to have a profound impact on the lives of animals and the organizations that care for them,” said Elizabeth Rowley, President and CEO of the Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan. “Through the HVAS fund, Jean’s vision of compassionate care for animals remains alive, and we are thrilled to offer this funding opportunity once again to those who are working tirelessly for animal welfare in our region.”
