The Medline Foundation and the Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan Celebrate Grant Recipients

Montgomery, NY (June 13, 2024) – The Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan in collaboration with The Medline Foundation, proudly announces the 2024 recipients of grants dedicated to supporting organizations addressing the Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) in Orange County, ensuring a healthier and more equitable future for our communities.

At the core of thriving communities are organizations and individuals committed to fostering growth, supporting those in need, and creating opportunities for a better future. The Medline Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Medline Industries, LP, and the Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan exemplify this spirit of giving and community empowerment.

Locally, the 2024 grants address SDOH, which include social, economic, educational, and environmental factors that impact health and quality of life. By tackling these critical needs, the grants provide more than just financial support—they empower communities to build sustainable, healthier futures.

“The Medline Foundation supports the communities where we work and live by addressing local social determinants of health,” said Francesca Olivier, Vice President of Environmental, Social and Governance for Medline Industries, LP.  “The Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan shares The Medline Foundation’s goal of identifying the unmet health needs of the region and supporting these local organizations that are doing the hard work to bring health equity throughout the community.”

The Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan has supported the region since 1999, enriching quality of life through strategic grant-making and community leadership. The Foundation connects donors with causes they care about, supporting a wide range of initiatives from education and healthcare to the arts and the environment. Its comprehensive grant programs support local nonprofits, provide scholarships, and fund projects that promote social and economic development.

“It is refreshing to see a corporation offer area organizations the opportunity to garner this type of grant support for programs rather than the typical event sponsorship route.  We are excited to introduce a new member of our business community, Medline Industries, to a diverse and robust mix of organizations who will benefit from their charitable giving now and in the future,” says Elizabeth Rowley, Community Foundation President & CEO.

At a recent gathering of Medline employees, elected officials, community members, and Foundation staff, the following five exceptional organizations were recognized as the 2024 grant recipients:

  1. All One One All D’Artagnan Farms Foundation – This regenerative farm in Goshen runs the Fresh Food for All program, a grow-to-donate initiative providing fresh produce and eggs to local food banks. Their goal for this year is to donate 6,000 pounds of food.
  2. Catholic Charities of Orange, Sullivan, and Ulster – The Improving Transportation Access for Economic Stability program addresses transportation barriers to employment, helping individuals secure and maintain jobs.
  3. Land to Learn – The SproutEd Newburgh program offers garden-based education to over 2,000 K-2 students annually, fostering academic and socio-emotional skills through hands-on experiences.
  4. RUPCO – YouthBuild Educational Experience provides high school equivalency, construction, and nursing training to underserved youth, with plans to add a culinary certification component. Participants also contribute to community projects, such as building disability ramps.
  5. Town of Wallkill Boys & Girls Clubs – Project Triple Club integrates three evidence-based programs designed to enhance educational opportunities, socio-emotional support, and community volunteering.

The contributions of The Medline Foundation and the Community Foundation will leave a lasting impact on our society. The two organizations not only provide financial support but also motivate those in the community to take action and make a difference.
