The Roger Ferris Agricultural Fund has been established within the Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan as a designated fund. This fund was established by Elizabeth ‘Betsy’ Ferris in honor and memory of her late husband, Roger. Roger Ferris, a lifetime resident of Orange County, an Orange County Business Owner, and a longtime member of the NYS Association of Land Surveyors, was a well respected and regarded surveyor by both his clients, and Orange County Farmers who would often seek his advice. He was a trustworthy surveyor who subdivided Orange County farm land in the most responsible and respectful of ways. Roger loved the outdoors and wanted to keep it protected therefore, this fund will provide grants to The Orange County Land Trust in support of annual lectures that support local farms, agricultural distribution and industries, and/or the protection of agricultural land.
