$8,000 Scholarship awarded to Minisink Valley High School Graduating Senior in memory of 9/11 Firefighter

Emily Heghmann, a graduating senior of Minisink Valley High School was awarded an $8,000 scholarship through the FF Thomas J. Foley Memorial Scholarship Fund, a charitable fund administered through the Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan. Emily will be attending Syracuse University this fall and majoring in Psychology.

 

The FF Thomas J. Foley Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in 2001, as a tribute to an American hero who made the ultimate sacrifice while savings tens of thousands of lives during the tragic events of September 11, 2001. This scholarship fund is a lasting legacy to the life of Firefighter Thomas J. Foley and assists the children of fellow FDNY firefighters in meeting the expenses of post-secondary educational costs.
