4th Annual Suicide Awareness and Prevention Walk in Memory of Justin T. Dimino set for June 20, 2015

Teenage suicide has impacted many communities, especially the Monroe-Woodbury community.  The 4th Annual Suicide Awareness and Prevention Memorial Walk will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at Monroe-Woodbury High School Track to benefit the Justin T. Dimino Memorial Scholarship Fund.  The Walk in Dimino’s memory will help create awareness and the prevention of suicide.

Saturday, June 20, 2015.  10:30 a.m.  Monroe-Woodbury High School Track, 155 County Road 95, Woodbury, NY.

 

  • Students $20.  Adults $25.  No fee for children 12 and under.
  • Sponsorship levels $100, $250, $500 and $1,000.  Free T-shirts for all paid registered walkers.
  • Sponsorship/Registration/Donation information may also be obtained at www.cfosny.org.
  • To be a sponsor, must reserve sponsorship by June 10.
  • To register to walk, please register by June 15 or day of WALK.

About the Justin T. Dimino Memorial Scholarship FundThe Fund is a component charitable fund of the Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan.  This fund was created by Justin’s family to honor and memorialize Justin who passed away suddenly on January 9, 2011 at the age of 16.  “Justin will forever hold a special place in all our hearts,” said Justin’s mother, Stephanie Stack.

 

Justin Dimino was in his junior year at Monroe-Woodbury High School at the time of his passing.  According to Justin’s family, he was a boy who lit up the room with his smile and personality.  Justin was the starting defensive back for the Championship Crusader Football Team at Monroe-Woodbury High School.  Football was the love of his life, as was his family and friends.

 

Through the Justin T. Dimino Memorial Scholarship Fund, scholarships will be provided to two graduating students each year – one from Monroe-Woodbury High School and another from Sacred Heart School, Monroe, NY, due to the support and generosity of family, friends and the Monroe-Woodbury Community.
