New Directors appointed at Community Foundation

Montgomery, NY – The Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan recently named new directors to its Board of Directors for 2015.

 

New Directors for 2015 are as follows:

photoWilliam Quackenbush is the Managing Director of Advent Valuation Advisors and has nearly 40 years of business experience. He is an Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) in Business Valuation, a Master Certified Business Appraiser (MCBA) and Accredited in Business Appraisal Review (ABAR). He has also managed the Business Valuation department of the accounting firm of Vanacore, DeBenedictus, DiGovanni & Weddell, LLP. Mr. Quackenbush has provided expert witness testimony in Federal and New York State Supreme Court and before the American Arbitration Association. He holds the most advanced level business appraisal credentials from both the Institute of Business Appraisers (IBA) and the American Society of Appraisers (ASA).

HS 2Amanda Ward is the Senior Director of Workforce Development and Training for The Center for Discovery and holds a J.D degree from Hofstra University School of Law. In addition to the human service work she provides at the Center for Discovery, she also teaches Constitutional Law, Business Law and Health Care Law and Ethics at Sullivan County Community College (SCCC). Her work with both The Center for Discovery and SCCC has given her invaluable training in humanity, ethics, and mentoring. Amanda is President of the Sullivan County NAACP, a member of the Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson Board of Directors, and is a Trustee for the Fallsburg Library. Amanda was also a professional Figure Skater and was even featured in Sports Illustrated for Kids as one of the youngest competitors in the 1991 US Figure Skating Nationals.

The primary goal of the Community Foundation is to improve the quality of life by offering uniquely personal service, local knowledge and professional investment and grant making expertise that help donors make a lasting difference through their giving.  “We achieve this goal with the help of a large volunteer support system of Board members and working committees.  Board members are selected because their professional and volunteer spheres of influence are compatible with the needs of the Foundation,” said Board Chairman Derrik Wynkoop.  “We are extremely fortunate to have many community-minded citizens lend us their talents in cultivating and managing charitable endowment funds that will benefit our communities forever,” added Karen VanHouten Minogue, President and CEO.
