Community Foundation Celebrates 15th Anniversary Year of Charitable Leadership and Milestones with Annual Reception on November 19, 2014

KM DW SCH. REC.The Community Foundation is celebrating its 15th year of charitable leadership and philanthropy in connecting people who care with causes that matter. The generosity of those who have given through the Community Foundation in its 15-year history has resulted in the creation of nearly 200 individual charitable funds that have awarded over $7 million in grants and scholarships. In 2014 alone, over $177,000 in scholarships were awarded to students in 25 school districts throughout Orange, Ulster, Sullivan and Rockland County from scholarship funds which the Foundation administers.

In 2014, in order to accommodate the growing demand for the Community Foundation’s services in the region, the Foundation moved from a suite in the Orange County Chamber of Commerce Business Center to a larger suite to provide expanded services for donors. This year the Foundation also launched a new website www.cfosny.org.

The Community Foundation’s many milestones and 15 years of service will be celebrated with a Reception on Wednesday, November 19 at Anthony’s Pier 9 in New Windsor, NY. At this event, the Community Foundation will honor Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine and Monticello Motor Club with the David T. Cocks Award for Commitment to Community. The Reception is open to the public and is sure to sell out quickly. Pre-registration is required for this elegant evening of hors d’oeuvres, cocktails and networking. To register visit www.cfosny.org or call 845-769-9393.

“Celebrating the Community Foundation’s 15th anniversary is a tremendous milestone. We are looking forward to continued growth of the Community Foundation and celebrating many more accomplishments in the years to come,” said Karen VanHouten Minogue, President and CEO. The Community Foundation exists not to support a single organization, but to address the broadest range of charitable issues by building an endowment that serves as a perpetual source of community capital. We connect people who care with causes that matter and we serve people of all means.
