John Rath and Foster Supply Hospitality receive the David T. Cocks Commitment to Community Award
MONTGOMERY, NY (October 21, 2022) – A crowd of more than 300 guests gathered October 12 at West Hills Country Club for the 2022 Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan (CFOS) Annual Reception. The always highly anticipated event was paused for two years due to the pandemic yet raised over $150,000, the most in the history of the event.
The evening began with cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and networking. An awards program followed and CFOS President and CEO Elizabeth Rowley updated the attendees on all that has been accomplished since the last annual reception in 2019.
“81 new funds have been established in the three-year period, with over $15.7million contributed to and through the Community Foundation since we last hosted this event,” Rowley shared. “The ripple effect of your generosity and the Community Foundation’s structure has supported hundreds of scholarship recipients, thousandsof organizations and countless other worthy charitable and community projects since we were founded.”
It was a memorable event to celebrate the Foundation’s stewardship of 389 component funds and administration of over $40 million in charitable assets to positively impact the Hudson Valley and beyond. To date, the Foundation, through its generous donors and fund representatives, has awarded more than $25 million in grants and scholarships, including more than $4.1 million in the last fiscal year alone.
“This is due to the generosity of our many fund representatives who have made the ultimate commitment to community through establishment of a fund,” added Rowley. “They are genuinely dedicated to making our community a better place to live, work, play and raise a family.”
John Rath and Foster Supply Hospitality were the worthy recipients of the David T. Cocks Award for Commitment to Community. The recognition is bestowed upon those who make significant contributions to enrich the lives of others in Orange and Sullivan counties.
“Our 2022 honorees lead by example, making significant contributions to enrich the lives of others through their dedication to multiple charities and causes as community leaders and corporate philanthropists,” said Rowley.
