Make A Difference Fund Announces Available Grants

Safe Homes of Orange CountyThe Make a Difference Fund was established by the Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan to provide grants to local organizations that provide services and programs to children of low-income, disadvantaged or distressed families.

The 2014 Make a Difference Fund grant applications are now available. Funding priority will be given to charitable tax exempt organizations located in Orange County and Sullivan County, New York that provide programs or services for children of low-income, disadvantaged or distressed families. In 2014, the Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan will consider grants of up to $1,500. Applications must be received by August 1, 2014 and awards will be announced in late November. Town of Wallkill Boys and Girls ClubsThe 2013 Make a Difference Fund grant recipients were Safe Homes of Orange County, Inc. to assist in purchasing new furniture for the Family Justice Center waiting room and Town of Wallkill Boys & Girls Clubs, Inc. for the Torch Club program.

The Community Foundation, a 501(c)(3) public charity, has begun its 15th year of charitable leadership    and philanthropy.  The Foundation has significantly increased local charitable funds and empowered donors to make a profound difference in the quality of life in our region with the creation of over 170 funds that will provide grants and scholarships forever! Since 1999, the Foundation has been an effective steward of the community’s charitable resources and has been a leader in the administration of scholarships, and grant making for the benefit of nonprofit organizations in Orange and Sullivan Counties, and beyond.
