Valley Central Education Foundation established to support educational programming in Valley Central School District

For Immediate Release: November 23, 2010

The Valley Central Education Foundation has been established by local community-minded citizens through the Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan. This summer, “friends” of the Valley Central School District, including parents, members of the community, staff, retirees, and Board of Education members came together to create the first independent foundation in the region to broaden and enhance students’ educational success.

The Valley Central Education Foundation is a charitable partnership between the community and its students that will provide opportunities to the children of the Valley Central School District schools and to encourage the entire community to participate in realizing this goal.

Focus groups have been convening since the spring to research its effort and understand its potential. Valley Central Education Foundation members are actively engaged in promoting and supporting this foundation. It is anticipated that alumni and friends of Valley Central School District will join these efforts and the Foundation will welcome a wide variety of assets to endow its charitable work. Please watch for more information and events.

The Valley Central Education Foundation is facilitated through the Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan, a 501(c)(3) public charity that was created to help individuals, organizations, and businesses establish endowments within their community.
