Wallkill Valley Health Coalition Fund Receives Major Gift

Marcia Jacobowitz, President of Wallkill Valley Health Coalition, presents check to Karen Minogue, Executive Director of the Community Foundation, for the Wallkill Valley Health Coalition Endowment Fund.

The Wallkill Valley Health Coalition Endowment Fund has received a major boost.  Marcia Jacobowitz-Paz, President of the Wallkill Valley Health Coalition Corp., recently announced that $200,000 will be added to the Wallkill Valley Health Coalition Endowment Fund to further the Coalition’s goal to provide a source of annual revenue to support the programs and services at the Wallkill Valley Health Center, located in Walden, New York.  The funds were received as the result of a sale of property previously donated to the Wallkill Valley Health Coalition Corp.  The Community Foundation of Orange & Sullivan has managed the Wallkill Valley Health Coalition Endowment Fund since 1995.

The Wallkill Valley Health Center is an active participant and partner of the Hudson River Health Care network of community health centers since 1995.  The Wallkill Valley Health Center, located at 75 Orange Avenue, Walden, provides a full array of primary health care services.  Dental services are also provided in the three state of the art dental operatories.  The health center serves insured, uninsured, medicaid and medicare patients in its service area.

The Community Foundation of Orange & Sullivan helps individuals, businesses, and organizations establish permanent Charitable Funds that award grants and scholarships forever.  Over 120 charitable funds have been created since 1999 and have awarded over $6 million in grants in the areas of land preservation, education, health/human services, youth development, the arts and culture.  Simple and cost effective, it costs nothing to establish a fund and the Foundation charges a modest fee annually to administer the fund.  To contribute to the Wallkill Valley Health Coalition Endowment Fund or to establish your own charitable fund in the name of your business or family, contact Karen VanHouten Minogue at 769-9393 (karen@cfoc-ny.org).
