On January 10, 2022, Daniel P. Downing, Senior Vice President at Walden Savings Bank passed away after a short illness. Dan was a devoted husband, father and dear friend and colleague to his co-workers and all who knew him.  He was a dynamic leader in the banking and mortgage industry with over 30 years of experience and prided himself as being a true advocate for homeowners.  Throughout his career, Dan helped make the dream of homeownership a reality for so many.

In Dan’s honor, this designated fund was established by the Walden Savings Bank Board of Directors for the purpose of supporting Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newburgh.  Like Habitat for Humanity, Dan was passionate about helping provide decent, affordable housing for families within our community.
