The Adopting T.H.E.O. Foundation supports charitable initiatives related to adoption and foster care. This includes scholarships for those in the foster care system or who have been adopted and support services for those in the foster care/adoption system such as care packages for Gotcha Day, ‘Go Bags’ for children, educational programs for foster/adopted parents and more.
The Adopting T.H.E.O. Scholarship awards one (1) scholarship in the amount of $1,000 to a graduating senior from the Valley Central School District whose personal journey reflects compassion, advocacy, resilience, and a commitment to inclusion.
This scholarship recognizes students who have been personally impacted by adoption, foster care, or learning and developmental differences, as well as students who have actively advocated for children or families navigating these experiences. The award celebrates perseverance, empathy, and the many ways students support and uplift others.
Preference may be given to students who plan to pursue fields such as social work, special education, psychology, or school and child advocacy, though all eligible students are encouraged to apply.
