The Fund for A Single Bite

Date Established: October 10, 2019

empowering young people to care about the food they eat and where it comes from

This fund supports A Single Bite’s food-based mission. By providing children and their families with healthy, prepared meals and free school programs, we teach, feed, and empower students and their families to care about the food they eat and where it comes from. Nearly 20 percent of children in Sullivan County are food insecure and families are still struggling to reliably access nutritious food.  A Single Bite is partnering with schools, food pantries and community organizations to identify at-risk children and their families to provide healthy, prepared meals. Schools and volunteers deliver Family Meals directly to each home and, with your help, A Single Bite will continue to feed and educate neighbors with real, local food. Since March 2020, the nonprofit A Single Bite has prepared and delivered 90,000 meals – now more than 600 servings per week.

Working closely with educators, they also present an experiential school-based Education Program to teach students about “real food” and empower them to make healthy choices. A Single Bite is feeding and educating neighbors in Sullivan County, NY with real, local food and your support will help children and their families to enjoy healthier lives!
