Parksville Arts Center Fund

Date Established: August 9, 2021

Mission: To foster and celebrate community building through music, art and cinema while preserving a historic landmark.

The Parksville Arts Center has been compiling programming concepts from local artists and creative people in the area and we have some very exciting things to unveil. We are also extremely happy to be helping to revitalize Main Street in Parksville along with some other great folks. But first, we need to revitalize the building!

We are renovating the former Parksville Synagogue into our non-profit arts center. The synagogue was built in 1907 and is a historic landmark. It has some amazing original details, but needs some work.

Here is an initial list of renovation needs:

  • Insulate and update HVAC for year round use
  • Renovate bathrooms to working order
  • Fix roof leak
  • Pull drop ceiling and restore tin ceiling
  • Pull carpet and restore wood floor
  • Pull wall paneling and support new insulation with wood interior walls
  • Update exterior doors and windows for security, insulation, and river view

There are a few more things, but this will be enough to get us to our first presentation. We, along with many other members of the community, have already put some sweat and energy into the project, but we are looking to raise money to get it done. Please consider making a tax deductible donation to support our mission.
