This fund was established in loving memory of Dr. Timothy Hale of Montgomery who practiced dentistry in the Hudson Valley. Dr. Hale was a college basketball player, sports addict and youth coach. Fittingly, this fund will award scholarships to graduates of Valley Central High School who have participated in athletics and are pursuing a major in the medical field. In the future, this scholarship may be opened up to all schools in Orange County and or other parts of the country based on where Dr. Hale’s children reside.  Eligible candidates will still be those involved in athletics pursuing a major in the medical field. 

Dr. Timothy E. Hale Memorial Scholarship

The Dr. Timothy E. Hale Memorial Scholarship awards one (1) scholarship in the amount of $2,000 each year to a graduating senior from Valley Central High School who has participated in athletics and plans to pursue a course of study in pre-medicine, medicine, or nursing at an accredited institution of higher learning. This scholarship reflects Dr. Hale’s commitment to athletics, health, and service to others.

Eligibility & Application Requirements

Applicants must:

• Be a graduating senior from Valley Central High School
• Have participated in athletics during high school
• Plan to pursue a course of study in pre-medicine, medicine, or nursing

Applications are submitted through the Community Foundation of Orange, Sullivan & Rockland’s online scholarship portal as part of the annual universal scholarship cycle.
